From God's Heart to Yours

There are times when it dawns on me, the reality of my sinful nature and the constant strive to be like Christ. Yet in spite of it, I accept and embrace the knowledge that there is no place I would rather be than in Christ- choosing to serve Him entirely and allowing him to mold me into that which He wants me to be- than to be His enemy.

Often during my quiet moments, I have wondered and even tried to put myself in God’s shoes, feeling how he felt when I chose not to follow Him; even in all His faithfulness and presence in my life. Man, feeling just rips me to shreds! (And I know that is just a fraction of how He felt). Taking it a step further, watching others walk the line that I walked without God, is simply heart-wrenching. Can you imagine continually seeking after someone you have made a personal obligation to love? Even in patience, he/she waits for your return and realization that he/she is always going to be there, even when the world turns its back on you? A modern-day Israel, no doubt (hmmm…)

I happened upon this song “So in Love with You” by Donnie McClurkin that voices these emotions as though through God’s words. Read it, ponder it and confess before God, with a repentant heart (I know I have): “Lord make me over so I am no longer that person”. Let us aim to become more Christ-like and God-fearing in these critical times. More important, let us chase after God’s own heart with an unfailing passion, like David.
I wanna sing
A song from the heart of God
I wanna sing, yeah

When I found you, you were all alone
All of your strength and hope was gone, yes
I gave you my heart to help you carry on
And then you turned and walked away

But I stayed right by your side
Many nights I sat with you and cried
Still you turned around and grew mad at me
But I still stayed, I stayed, yeah

Tell me what I did to you
To make you do me like you do me
All I did was try to prove
Oh, wanna prove to you that I love you, yeah
Tell me what I have to give
In order for you to believe
Believe me, that I'll never leave
Believe me when I say that I love you so

That I love you
I really really love you, child
Gave everything for you
Wait a minute now

I know you never thought I'd write you a song
You thought that I was just for Sunday morning
But you've been in my heart all along
And I wanna say I love you so

But sometimes you don't think that my heart breaks
You can't feel the way that my heart aches
When I watch you make the same mistakes
I watch you do it time and time again

Tell me what I did to you
To make you do me like you do me
All I did was try to prove
Oh, wanna prove to you that I love you, yeah
Tell me what I have to give
In order for you to believe
Believe me, that I'll never leave
Believe me when I say that I love you so

Sometimes I just want to
Hold you in my arms
Hold you and protect you
Keep you safe from harm
Stand right by your side
From night until the dawn
And keep you close to me
Never let you go

When others hurt you
Rob the hurt away
I won't desert you
Promise that I'll stay
And I believe you
Hear me when I say
Oh, because I love you
Really love you so

I'm so in love with you
Really so in love with you
I'm so in love with you

I'm so in love with you
Really so in love with you
I'm so in love with you

I'm so in love with you
Really so in love with you
I'm so in love with you

I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so

I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so

I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so

A song from the heart of God
